My kids love finding a little note in their lunchbox. I love it too because it gives me a way to deliver a positive message to them mid-day. Jokes, praise, puns or encouragement, it doesn’t even really matter what the note looks like. They just love the surprise of a playful message on a serious day.
Or maybe its the diversion from the daily routine. Or the chance to read something that really speaks to their day, their interests or their funny bone. I made these emoji lunchbox notes because my girls are really into the emojis right now. So the emojis become my funny lunch time messengers :).
Turning Lunchbox Notes into a routine
To add anything new to my routine, I know I need a procedure for getting it done. Here are the three easy steps I use to keep my routine rolling
- First, I print a bunch of lunchbox notes
- Then, I cut them into their ready-to-go size
- Next, I keep them in a little container with the rest of my lunchbox supplies
Another part of a new routine, is working out the kinks. Here’s a tip to help you skip one of those kinks. Notes printed with an inkjet printer are not waterproof. So you will want to keep them away from any moisture in the lunch box (ice pack, condensation). Put the lunchbox notes in an outside pocket of the lunchbox or in a plastic bag or watertight container for protection. Thankfully the lunchboxes we have this year all have an outside pocket!
Also, I created these FREE emoji lunchbox notes to use with my kids’ lunchboxes and want to share these with you! To gain access to the printable click this button below
Another strategy for this new routine is to order these ready made lunchbox notes from Amazon HERE. We won’t judge. 😉
As you will find, lunchbox notes come in a many different and delightful forms. Praise, encouragement, jokes, and more. When you put these in your child’s lunchbox, you are essentially sending your child two messages at once, the one on the paper and the one from your heart to theirs. The heart one says, I notice your strengths, accomplishments, interests, your sense of humor and your challenges and I am with you!
